I am so happy about this !

My latest AR with milspec trigger was pretty bad
Just over 6# with lots of pretravel

I ordered a set of JP Springs and a new pistol grip screw designed to help with trigger pretravel

First I installed the JP Springs and the pull weight went down to 4# but still with alot of pretravel

Next installed the new screw and I adjusted the screw until it started working and ended up with a nice 3.5# break with hardly any pretravel

I have less than $30 in it and I am very pleased with the results

Here is the screw set up I got on eBay

Product Metal Household hardware Fastener Circle

You use it to install the pistol grip and then it has a set screw inside that you adjust inward until it contacts the trigger and gently puts pressure upward removing the pretravel

After you are done , do your safety function check

There are lots of videos about this already out there if you want more info I'll post some links

This is what I did with mine, but I used a RRA 3.5# trigger with JP light springs, and this pistol grip screw. I now have a 2.25# trigger that is the absolute most crisp trigger I have shot!

It reduces the amount of surface area contact between the trigger sear and the hammer cocking notch by pushing the back of the trigger upwards causing the sear to engage the notch less.

You can take this mod one step further while you are at it and polish the contact surfaces of the sear and the hammer notch to get an even smoother trigger.

I installed the JP springs in my last build and will use them in all of them now. And best was I didn't have to buy them. I bought an LPK from a company and it had an out of spec spring lug on the hammer that bent the crud out of my hammer spring when I installed it. Emailed them and sent them pics of the hammer and the caliper measurements on it, and they sent me a new hammer and a set of the JP springs with it.

Funny, I almost ordered the same thing, than my wife said I could have the timney trigger as a birthday gift. I ordered the trigger for the M&P 15, and will probably polish the old trigger and order the trigger adjustment screw for the AR build I am doing for my godson/nephew as a graduation present.
