So I'm sick and decided to work from home today. As I'm standing at my kitchen sink talking on the phone with a coworker, I look out the window and see three Mexican men 18-early 20's walking around in my back yard. I tell the guy on the phone "I gotta go", run in my room and grab the 9mm and head straight for the back door. As soon as they heard the back door open two of them dove over the back fence and the third was pinned in the corner. I should mention it was poring down rain. When the guy saw I had a gun he must have messed his pants and as the other three, over the back fence. My life was never in danger so no need to be concerned. I am wondering why I didn't just let the dogs out while I "covered them" but there was really not a bunch of time to go through my options. All together I bet the confrontation didn't take but 5-6 seconds. Hopefully the stinking Hillary supporters got the message and will stay clear of my house. After they ran off I called the police and a helicopter was circling within 4-5 minutes, could have been even sooner but I wasn't paying attention to my watch. They circled for an hour and forty minutes it circled and at one point, they were saying over their speaker that they had the house surrounded and to give themselves up or they'd send in the dog. Don't know anything past that but I suspect the sheriff's department will be coming by tonight for a visit.

I said it before and I'll say it again, one of the happiest days in my life was seeing California in the rear view mirror.

Well it's not like the other 49 are crime free. Just saying. But I do understand what you mean.

I'm sure it was. God has a reason for everything and even though I got sick and feel cruddy if I wasn't, I'd have been out making sales calls.

You're right in the area where the mesicans are expanding from East LA.
    They are opportunists.
    Kudos for holding your composure.
Next time greet them with a 6" stainless or Nickel revolver. They can see it from a mile away!

I am not sure what your 3 layers of security are (obviously the dogs and you with your gun are two, everyone needs THREE!) but you should consider a house alarm (Does NOT have to be monitored) and perhaps security cams.

Great story with a happy ending! Might pay to stay attentive for a while in case they get gutsy.

This stuff happens everywhere. My 2 brothers live back in Missouri. There was a rash of copper wire thefts in vacant homes, and everyone was at a loss of who the heck was doing it. People kept seeing 3 guys in a pickup of Hispanic persuasion driving around (in the Ozarkso_O) and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, at least until they were stopped for a traffic violation and the Officer discovered all of this copper wire and copper pipes in the bed of the truck.

That is what I call "First Class Detective Work". Dick Tracey would have been proud..... I'd think that 3 Hispanic men cruising the back roads in a pickup in the Ozarks might have at least raised an eye brow, but then I wouldn't be fit to be a Police Officer in today's world. I admit it.
